The purpose of this wiki is to explore and experience online learning, improving our technology use, and improving integration across all course areas at our school. Every member of our wiki community may edit pages to ask questions, discuss issues, and add content.

Here is a great (short) introduction to wikis and their use:

Ulitimately our goal according to the Texas Long-Range Plan for Technology is to actually infuse technology into our curriculum rather than merely integrated it. There will be a day where technology is used in the classroom just as pens, pencils, and notebooks are now. Our students are ready for this shift, but we as educators are not. Technology for our generations requires thought and effort. For us, if the technology is not working correctly it's simply easier to scrap it and move on with our tried and true methods that we know have worked in the past, However, for our students that is not the case. They do not have our past experiences to draw on in the way that we do. Their past is our present.

  1. What are the TA (technology application) TEKS that you are responsible for in your curriculum area?
  2. What do you think could improve our integration of technology applications at Irons?
  3. What about using wikis for our PLCs at Irons?
